Lacombe Martial Arts a.k.a. Lacombe Karate is currently celebrating over 35 years of martial arts excellence in the Conejo Valley. Recognizing the desire of the community to learn self-defense, Master Lacombe began teaching in his first studio in 1973 in Westlake Village, California's "First Neighborhood" area.
To accommodate the growing number of students, they moved to a larger studio in Agoura Hills, California in 1980. Continued success and word of mouth spread that Master Lacombe's studio was the place to train for karate.
In January 2005 Lacombe Karate relocated back to it's original location nestled in the lovely First Neighborhood of Westlake Village. Lacombe Karate also expanded to include a Health Center that offers Chiropractic Care, Nutritional Counceling, Massage Therapy and Physical Therapy. We invite you to visit our beautifully remodeled 3000 square foot facility and come take a FREE TRIAL CLASS.
A 9th Degree Black Belt, Master Lacombe has been repeatedly honored for his Martial Arts Instruction skills. His many credits include "Instructor of the Year" from the United Fighting Arts Federation, recognition as a Master with World Black Belt, certified A.I.D. Lacombe Martial Arts offers a well-balanced training regimen for both children and adults. Millions have benefited from karate training world-wide. Karate, which means empty hand, has origins in Eastern Asia dating back thousands of years. The basic tools for training in the martial arts provide a foundation for life skills, such as self discipline, recall, memorization, focus and concentration. Learning the techniques lead to greater body control, balance, eye coordination and confidence. Courtesy, Respect, Discipline and Loyalty are martial arts tenants at Lacombe Karate.
Dragon classes for the youngest students increase the ability to follow directions and pay attention while having fun, exercising and learning self-defense and

Lacombe Martial Arts specializes in the Korean Martial Art of Tang Soo Do, popularized in America by Master Chuck Norris, and Chun Kuk Do an American Hybrid of martial arts founded by Master Chuck Norris in 1990. Tang Soo Do (Way of the Knife Hand, also Way of the Chinese Hand ) emphasizes a balance of hand and foot techniques. It is considered a combination of "hard" and "soft" karate style, deriving softness from flowing Northern Chinese styles and hardness from Korean Soo Bahk Do techniques. Tang Soo Do was founded by Grandmaster Hwang Kee (1914-2002).
Chun Kuk Do combines several different fighting styles. Though officially founded in 1990, the foundations for Chun Kuk Do stretch back as far as the 1960s. The governing and standards body for Chun Kuk Do is the United Fighting Arts Federation. Norris started to develop the style in the mid 1960s after modifying the traditional Korean Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan system he had learned during a tour of duty with the U.S. Air Force in South Korea in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Lacombe Martial Arts is also the place for MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) students to train. MMA and Kickboxing is blended into our curriculum. Private individual and small group lessons are available for MMA, Kickboxing and of course Karate!
